Depression: All in Our Mind
So called "Depression" is a mental health disorder characterized by persistently depressed mood or loss of interest in activites, causing significant impairment in daily life.
Possible cause include a combination of biological, psychological and social sources of distress. Increasingly, research suggests that these factors may cause changes in brain function, including altered activity of certain neural circuits in the brain.
In world it's increasing day by day. More than 25 million cases per year. It requires the medical diagnosis.
Usually depression results from a combination of recent events and other longer-term or personal factors, rather than one immediate issue or event like-
•Long-term unemployment, living in an abusive or uncaring relationship, loneliness, work stress.
•Some of the personal factors can run it like- family history, low self esteem personality, stress and worry of coping with a serious illness and the most important for teenagers- drug and alcohol use.
Remember, Depression is the most suicidal illness for nowadays. Everyone's different and it's often a combination of factors that can contribute to developing depression. The most important thing is to recognise the "signs and symptoms" and "seek support".
